Research objects
Project — the durable owner of research documents, runs, artifacts, claims, and settings inside a workspace.
Run — one research objective pursued under a plan, generation, policy, and budget.
Plan version — an immutable accepted arrangement of tasks and dependencies for a run.
Task — durable work intent with acceptance criteria and dependencies.
Attempt — one immutable execution try for a task. A retry is another attempt.
Execution and evidence
Block revision — immutable exact notebook source. Executions point to revisions, not mutable blocks.
Execution output — a presentation record produced by an execution; large or retained bytes belong in an artifact.
Artifact — immutable, content-addressed bytes plus a verified tenant-scoped manifest.
Claim revision — exact research wording with review, validity, currentness, and evidence edges.
Evidence reference — an immutable locator to an exact revision, execution, artifact, variable, or captured source.
Control
Desired state — the product's durable instruction to run, pause, or cancel.
Wait reason — why otherwise-live work cannot proceed, such as approval, dependency, input, budget, capacity, or operator action.
Generation — a monotonic fence preventing late work from mutating a newer or cancelled state.
Replay cursor — an opaque strictly ordered position in an authorized event stream. It may have gaps.
